DETERMINE YOUR ORAL HEALTH

We invite you to take our quiz to help determine your oral health

Here at Village Periodontics & Dental Implant Center it is very important to us to fully educate our patients about their individual dental status. We educate patients so that they have adequate information with which to make treatment decisions along with either Dr. Davis or Dr. Cramer.  The following quiz will provide information about your oral health and the way your oral health can affect or be affected by your dental health.

  • Grade yourself:

If you answered no to all of these questions, Congratulations! You appear to have a healthy mouth. Proper homecare techniques and frequent professional maintenance visits are the best ways to prevent oral infections.

If you answered yes to 1-3 of these questions, you are at a slight risk for gum disease. It is recommended that you see a periodontist for a comprehensive evaluation to catch any early signs of periodontal (gum) disease. The early stages of periodontal disease do not typically hurt; consequently many patients don’t even realize they have a gum infection. A periodontist (a gum, tooth, and dental implant specialist) is best at diagnosing and treating periodontal disease. In the early stages, treatment is typically easy and painless.

If you answered yes to 4-6 of these questions, you are at a moderate risk for periodontal (gum) disease. A detailed evaluation by a periodontist is strongly encouraged. The further periodontal disease progresses, the more it can affect your entire body and cause irreversible damage. Fortunately, non-invasive laser assisted gum treatment can reverse this process.

If you answered yes to more than 6 of the questions, you are at high risk for periodontal disease. It would greatly benefit you to seek a consultation from a periodontist to restore you oral health, prevent systemic infections and keep the ability to chew and look good. Advancements in microsurgical techniques and specific dental lasers have improved our success and patient comfort. Periodontists are uniquely qualified to make the appropriate treatment recommendations for your specific needs and desires.
