CONTINUING EDUCATION
At Village Periodontics & Dental Implant Center the team keeps current with the latest science based treatment modalities by attending quality continuing education conferences. Dr. Black, Dr. Davis and Dr. Cramer host Study Club meetings in our conference center once a month with local colleagues. This small group of dedicated doctors meets to participate in detail case planning in order to continually excel in creative patient treatment planning.
Dr Black, Dr. Davis and Dr. Cramer and the staff all participate in continuing education, not only to meet requirements but to stay current in all aspects of practicing periodontics. The team has traveled to various conferences around the country as well as participating in local training.

Drs. Cramer, Davis and surgical assistants renewed their Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications. This is above and beyond the Basic Life Support (BLS) that the entire office obtains every two years.

Dr. Cramer, Chrissy, our office manager, and Kamryn, our Professional Relationship Director, attended the Master's Program in Scottsdale, Arizona. This meeting was based on what we can do to improve our practice for our patients.

Dr. Cramer attended an Airway Management course by the Florida Association of Periodontists in Orlando. This course is designed for dentists providing IV Sedation.

Dr. Davis and Dr. Cramer attended a course called The Art of Treatment Planning and Case Presentation. This course helps the team to better understand the way to present treatment to all of our patients.

Dr. Cramer attended Spear Education in Arizona. This course was for specialist practices on how to better collaborate with our referring dentists for the best treatment for our patients.

Dr. Davis attended the first of a two-part Hybridge hands-on conference in Nevada. The topic was Full Arch cases, an area in which Dr. Davis already has expertise. Advanced techniques and technology were presented.

Dr. Davis attended the Full-Arch Rehabilitation Surgical Cadaver Hands-on Workshop at the Zimmer Dental Surgical Cadaveric Laboratory in order to refine his clinical skills and delivery of advanced care treatment.
Pride Institute May 2016
Our office teamed with The Pride Institute of San Francisco to participate in efficiency strategies such as leadership, team communication, and planning in order to create the most efficient office possible.
Dr. Davis and his wife, Jen, also traveled to San Francisco to attend more Pride training prior to the opening of our new office so that the transition to the new office would be a smooth one.
The Specialist Institute Series
The purpose of The Specialist Institute Series is to enhance patient experience. Dr. Davis attended meetings in Chicago and Miami to focus on long term goals of our practice and quality patient care.
Our team traveled to Fort Lauderdale in April, 2016 to attend the third in the seminar series, presented by periodontist, Dr. Mark Setter and oral surgeon, Kanyon Keeney. The topics included leadership, patient acceptance, and referrals as well as administrative techniques that improve efficiency.
January 2016 The North American Society of Periodontists
Dr. Davis, along with our administrative and clinical managers Chrissy, Connie, and Sheryll, attended the annual Invitational Meeting of the North American Society of Periodontists. The event was held in Dallas, and consisted of a two day presentation and workshop on practice management. We continually improve the way we practice and this workshop provided a wealth of new information for the office to implement.

Our dental hygienist, Linda, attended the American Academy of Periodontology meeting in Orlando for the Dental Hygiene Symposium. The workshops provided the latest protocols for periodontal maintenance procedures and successful stability of the patient’s periodontal health.

Dr. Davis attended the American Academy of Periodontology Annual Symposium and Spear Dental Seminar in Orlando on the Art of Treatment Planning and Case Presentation. This symposium increases skill in determining treatment options for a number of common but complex dental problems. Dr. Davis attends as many continuing education seminars to learn the latest technology and studies.

Dr. Davis traveled to the Spear Education Annual Summit in Scottsdale, Arizona. Spear seminars provide solid, fundamental concepts, systematic treatment planning and proven steps for achieving predictable clinical results.

Our dental hygienist, Linda, completed the clinical portion of a 60 hour course in administering local anesthesia at the University of Florida. She and our other hygienist Kelsey are both now certified in the administration of anesthetic. They both strive to make your experience as comfortable as possible. They are both skilled in traditional and computer assisted local anesthetic (the “Wand”).

Dr. Davis attended a conference entitled “Treating Full Arch Patients with Hybrid Solutions” in Houston, Texas. Full Arch implants replace a complete set of upper or lower teeth. His attendance at this conference is another example of Dr. Davis’ commitment to maintaining the highest level of treatment options for patients.
